It’s his fault
Bill Downes
Drums & Vocals
Bill Downes has been playing drums for nearly 50 years, performing in a wide variety of original and cover bands across just about every style you can think of, both in the studio and on stage. He also handles vocals with a range so wide and high it occasionally causes neighborhood dogs to join the chorus.
Dan Pastore
Guitar & Vocals
I was born in Connecticut. Pretty much everyone in my family played, sang, or was heavily influenced by music in some way. My older sister Amy showed me how to make D chord when I was about 11 & I took it from there. My favorite growing up was Bob Dylan. I also loved anything with great harmonies. Byrds, CSNY, & of course The Beatles! I listened to so much music that I could remember a ton of songs. That earned me the nickname Jukebox. After a stint in the Navy, working 40 years as a union HVAC mechanic and raising a couple kids, my wife of 40 years & I retired here in Tennessee about 6 years ago. I met Frank around that same time. Then the rest of the beans came along and there you go. I've been in a few bands & it's not often you get a group where everyone is on the same page. These guys are pros & it's such a pleasure to still be playing the songs I love with them.
Matt Retz
Guitar & Vocals
Matt’s been playing music since age 10, and whether it’s rock, jazz, or country, he brings a pro’s touch to it all. He’s released multiple albums, including Wind of Change (2023) and One Rough Year (2025) with Ain’t Got No Time (AGNT), as well as El Dorado County Line with Colton Mountain and Pay the Piper with Dave Manoucheri. A veteran of the 90s rock scene with Fate Positive, Matt blends rich vocals, sharp guitar work, and a songwriter’s soul into every performance.
Steve Weber
Keyboards & Vocals
Steve Weber handles keyboards and vocals for Frank & the Beans. A lifelong musician with years behind the keys, Steve combines classic instincts with a pilot’s precision. After a career as a commercial airline captain, he now spends his time navigating chord changes instead of flight paths, adding rich keys and smooth vocals that help keep the band’s sound cruising at altitude.
